Exit with Mo is run by Maureen (Mo) Brown in Austin, Texas. People come here with questions they often haven't asked anyone else yet, so we try to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what we do collect.
The Exit Conversation (our free tool)
Your answers stay in your own browser. The tool doesn't send them to us or anyone else. That includes the optional business name and any answers about money or legal pressure. The tool saves them on your device only so you can pick up where you left off. To erase them, tap "Start over" in the tool or clear your browser data.
On a shared or public computer, the next person using that browser could see your answers by tapping "Continue where I left off." Tap "Start over" when you're done.
Our website may collect general information about visits to the page containing the tool, but it does not collect your individual assessment answers.
If you ask for the emailed guide
The email form inside the tool is run by Typeform, a service we use to collect form responses.
If you fill it out, Typeform receives your first name, email address, an optional company name, your consent choices, and the path the tool suggested for you. It receives none of your other answers.
That suggested path can reflect your situation (for example, a suggestion to get professional help right away), so we treat it as confidential.
We use this information to send your guide. We'll only send you updates beyond the guide if you separately opted in.
Typeform may also process technical information, including your IP address and browser information, to operate and secure its service. See Typeform's privacy policy.
You never have to give contact information to use the tool or receive your initial results. An email address is required only if you choose to receive the more detailed guide.
Booking a call
Free calls are booked through Google's scheduling page. Whatever you enter there goes to Google and to Mo's calendar, under Google's privacy policy.
Our contact form
If you send a note through the Contact page, we receive your name, email address, and message. Squarespace stores the submission, and a copy goes to Mo's email.
Site analytics and cookies
Our website runs on Squarespace. It uses cookies to help keep the site secure and understand website visits, such as how many people viewed a page. See Squarespace's cookie policy.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect information about your browser, device, and the pages you visit. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on.
The Exit Conversation tool itself has no analytics or tracking of your assessment answers.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share your business details with potential buyers or brokers without your permission. We don't use your answers to The Exit Conversation to determine what services to sell you.
We use the service providers described above to operate the website, manage appointments, deliver requested information, and understand website traffic.
How long we keep things
Assessment answers: Saved only in your browser until you select "Start over" or clear your browser data.
Guide requests: Kept in Typeform and related email records until you request deletion or we no longer need them for the purposes described in this policy.
Bookings: Kept in Google Calendar for scheduling and legitimate business recordkeeping purposes.
Contact form messages: Kept in Squarespace and Mo's email for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain business records, or comply with applicable obligations.
Marketing subscriptions: Kept until you unsubscribe, subject to any limited records needed to honor your request.
We periodically review the information we retain and delete records that are no longer needed, subject to applicable legal or business requirements.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from future updates, by contacting us through the Contact page.
We'll honor these requests as required by applicable law and explain if certain information needs to be retained for legitimate business or legal reasons.
Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe option.
Not for children
This site is for business owners. It isn't directed to anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
